York Knights face a tough trip to Betfred Championship champions, Wakefield Trinity on Sunday at the DIY Kitchens Stadium (3pm).
Trinity are 13 points clear at the top of the table having lost just one league game all year.
The 32-4 defeat at Toulouse in July is the only blemish in an otherwise perfect run on their way to clinching the League Leaders Shield.
However, the Knights are in good form and a winning run of five matches has seen them climb up to fifth place in the table with three games to go.
York head coach, Mark Applegarth is expecting a good challenge against his former club, but he says there’s no pressure on his team as they try to make sure of a top six finish and a place in the play offs.
For the last two weeks, Darrel Powell’s Trinity have racked up 60 points against their opponents, first with a 60-0 win at Swinton before beating Whitehaven 60-6 at home.
The Knights won on the road last week, taking the points with a 12-6 victory at Widnes Vikings.
That followed on from wins over Whitehaven (40-0), Batley Bulldogs (37-6), Toulouse Olympique (20-12) and Dewsbury Rams (54-12).
It’ll be the third meeting between the teams this year, after Wakefield won 40-4 in the 1895 Cup group stages, and then 50-6 in the league in April.
It’s also the first time York have played at Wakefield since 1997, when Wakefield won 34-26 with a team that included former Knights players, Mick Ramsden and Chris Judge.
York forward, Jordan Thompson will be available for the trip this weekend after serving a two match suspension.
