York Knights strolled to victory in the Betfred Championship, beating Doncaster 66-0 at the LNER Community Stadium.

They scored six tries in a dominant first half performance, which saw them build a 34-0 half time lead.

Sixmore followed in the second half, with a hat-trick for winger, Scott Galeano.

It was their fourth consecutive win, and third in the league, and it moves them up to fifth in the table.

The first try came on the back of a set which moved York from deep in their own half to near the Doncaster line. It ended with Paul McShane spinning out of the attempted tackle right on the whitewash to touch down. Harris missed the conversion.

The Knights solid start continued when Jack Martin and Jesse Dee were both held up over the line, but despite them going close, York weren’t able to extend their lead.

However, when Jordan Thompson dummied his way through the Doncaster defence, Ata HIngano was there in support to post more points with a try converted by Liam Harris.

Sam Cook extended the lead, taking a short pass to spin over and squeeze the ball down despite the attention of the defence. Harris added the goal again from in front of the posts.

Minutes later, Harris scored a converted try of his own, following up a grubber kick through the defence from Hingano, and the Knights first half dominance was reflected on the scoreboard.

Debutant, Kieran Hudson was next to score, taking a short ball from Brenden Santi to crash over from short range. Harris’ conversion took him past a personally tally of 500 points in a Knights shirt.

Hingano then got a second, going through some weak tackling, and the Knights passed the 30 point mark with two minutes of the half still remaining.

The Knights began the second half like they ended the first, when just after the restart, Harris scooped up another Hingano grubber to score near the posts for an easy conversion.

Fast hands out to the left then saw Scott Galeano’s try scoring start to his time at York continue, and Harris added a towering touchline conversion.

A speculative looping pass from HIngano led to a second for Galeano, who’s pace took him in from 40 metres out as the Knights hit 50 points.

The Australian’s hat-trick came from an interception around 10 metres out from his own line, and Harris tagged on a further two points.

Kieran Buchanan broke through from 30 metres out to take York up to 60 points, and with Harris now off the field, McShane took over the kicking duties and added the goal.

The final try came right on the hooter, as Harvey Reynolds scored from a Hingano pass to complete a big win for the Knights.
