York Knights are back at the LNER Community Stadium on Sunday, with Barrow Raiders the visitors in the Betfred Championship (3pm)!

The game is part of a double header, with York Valkyrie facing their counterparts from Barrow in the Betfred Women’s Super League (12pm).

The Knights have won their last eleven games in all competitions, and sit top of the Championship table on points difference ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures.

Barrow currently sit fifth in the table, with 19 points from nine wins and one draw.

The Raiders were one of the early pacesetters in the league, winning six of their opening eight games. Their only two defeats in that time were against Halifax Panthers (24-14) and York Knights (36-12). That was the Knights’ second league win of the season, and they’ve since won 10 of the following 11 league games. On that day at Craven Park in March, a hat-trick from Liam Harris, along with tries from Ben Jones-Bishop, Jesse Dee and Jude Ferreira helped the Knights to victory.

The Raiders have had a number of injuries in their squad of late, and have seen a dip in form,

However, after three consecutive defeats (Toulouse 28-12, Featherstone 30-12, Sheffield Eagles 28-22), Barrow got back on track with back to back wins, starting at Hunslet (58-0) and then at home to Bradford Bulls (24-22). After a heavy defeat at Featherstone, Paul Crarey’s side come into Sunday’s game after a 40-16 win over Batley Bulldogs.

York are expected to be able to name a settled squad again for the game, including top try scorer, Ben Jones-Bishop whose try last week against Bradford Bulls was his 20th of the season.
