York RLFC Foundation Selected for Tesco Fruit & Veg Grants!

York RLFC Foundation is delighted to announce that it has been selected to take part in the Tesco Fruit & Veg Grants programme, giving local shoppers the opportunity to support community sport, health and wellbeing initiatives across the Selby area!

The Foundation's project, "Healthy Hearts Happy Minds", has been put forward for a public vote in Tesco stores from Monday 3 August 2026 until the end of November 2026.

The project aims to deliver outreach work in schools, helping children understand the importance of healthy lifestyles, physical activity and positive well-being through engaging educational sessions.

Customers shopping in participating Tesco stores will receive a voting token with every transaction and they can choose to support York RLFC Foundation by placing their token in the Foundation's voting unit. Voting will take place at Tesco Selby Superstore (YO8 4QQ) and Tesco Selby Brayton Express (YO8 9EG), with every vote helping to determine the level of funding awarded to the project.

Adam Prentis, Delivery Manager at York RLFC Foundation, said: "We are delighted to have been selected for the Tesco Fruit & Veg Grants programme. Any funding secured through the customer vote will help us expand our community and schools provision across the Selby area, supporting young people to become more active, learn about healthy lifestyles and improve their overall wellbeing.

"This investment would support our work as part of a wider North Yorkshire Rugby League development plan, helping us create more opportunities for children and young people to access positive sporting experiences, learn new skills and build healthier futures within their local communities.
