York RLFC Learning Disability Rugby League Head to Magic WKND!

York RLFC’s Learning Disability Super League (LDSL) team will take centre stage at one of rugby league’s biggest weekends as they return to Magic Weekend at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium!
The Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League gives people with learning disabilities and autism the opportunity to represent the clubs they love on some of the sport’s biggest stages. What began as a showcase event at Magic Weekend in 2019 has grown into a fan-favourite competition, with participation more than doubling across the country.
For York RLFC’s players, Magic Weekend offers a truly unforgettable experience, running out in front of thousands of supporters at one of rugby league’s showcase events and creating memories to last a lifetime.
York will take to the field on Saturday 4 July at half-time during Hull KR vs Hull FC, demonstrating the inclusivity, passion and excitement that make the Learning Disability Super League such a special part of the Magic Weekend schedule.
Supported by York RLFC Inclusion Officer Dawn Shore and a dedicated team of volunteers, the programme is about far more than rugby. It helps participants build confidence, develop life skills, improve wellbeing and form lasting friendships, all while proudly representing their club.
