York Valkyrie travel to Warrington Wolves for their latest game in the Betfred Womenâs Super League on Sunday at Victoria Park (12pm)!
Itâs the first time this season the teams have met, with the Valkyrie sitting third in the table with three wins from their opening five, while the Wolves are bottom and still looking for their first points of the season.
Ged Gintyâs side have suffered heavy defeats in their last two games, losing 110-0 to Leeds Rhinos and then 86-0 to St.Helens.
Warrington havenât beaten York in their last five league meetings, losing 44-4 at the LNER Community Stadium last season, and falling to a 61-0 defeat at home last year.
On that day, Valkyrie winger, Eboni Partington scored four tries, with a hat-trick from Emma Kershaw and one each for Savannah Andrade, Georgie Dagger, Carrie Roberts, Tara-Jane Stanley and Remi Wilton. Stanley added six goals and a drop goal.
The Valkyrieâs last game saw them earn a narrow win over Huddersfield Giants, with a late Sinead Peach try proving crucial in the 24-20 win.
The Wolves are led by experienced captain, Dani Bound, a former England international. Theyâve also got Emma Lowe and Hollie Brussells in their squad, who are both on loan from St.Helens.
With no new injuries to the York squad, Director of Rugby, Lindsay Anfield is expected to have a near full strength squad to choose from, including new signing, Sarah Menaa, who made her debut against Leigh two weeks ago.
