York Valkyrie return to the LNER Community Stadium on Sunday to take on Warrington Wolves in the Betfred Women’s Super League (12pm)!

It’s the first game in three weeks for both clubs, after blank weekends in the schedule because of the Women’s Origin game and then the international break as Wales hosted England.

WIth five games to go, York are still third in the table, two points behind St.Helens and three points behind leaders Wigan Warriors.

They’ve won their last six games, including the 26-6 victory at home to Huddersfield Giants last time out. They’ve conceded just two tries in their last four matches. The last defeat was at the start of June, in a narrow 16-12 loss at home to St.Helens.

Warrington have had a difficult season, and are still looking for a first win of the year. They’ve fallen to some heavy defeats, including last time out against the Valkyrie, when they lost 70-0.

York scored 12 tries in that game, with two each for Emma Kershaw, Tamzin Renouf, Evie Sexton and Izzy Bibby, while Ellie Williamson kicked 11 goals.

The Wolves’ last match against St.Helens was called off, with a lengthy injury list meaning they were unable to raise a team, and so they forfeited the game.

Players to watch in the Wolves squad include former England international, Dani Bound, and Emma Lowe, on loan from St.Helens.
