Following the launch of the new 1868 club the Foundation has signed up its first members. Steve Sharp and Dave Darking made a donation to the Foundations work recently which saw them become the first members of the 1868 Club.
The 1868 Club is a recently launched fundraising initiative to support the work of the York City Knights Foundation across York and North Yorkshire. The Foundation works extensively across the area delivering programmes for people aged 4 to 84 in activities ranging from schools coaching to heritage and wellbeing. Each year it touches the lives of over 10,000 people with the mission of ‘supporting communities and changing lives’.
Knights General Manager Neil Gulliver said: “We are incredibly grateful to both Steve and Dave who have been wonderfully supportive of the work of the Foundation for a number of years. This very generous donation, in what are difficult times for everyone, will help to ensure the Foundation can continue to grow the game for years to come. We would welcome any individuals, groups or businesses who would like to support the work of the Foundation to get in touch.”
To sign up to our 1868 Club all you have to do is pledge £150 or more each year to the Foundation. In return your support will be acknowledged on the Foundation pages of the York City Knights Website, you will receive an 1868 Club Certificate, a quarterly newsletter of the Foundations work in the community and 2 hospitality tickets each year to a game at the LNER Community Stadium.
