York Valkyrie can confirm the players who will depart the club following the conclusion of the 2026 Betfred Women’s Super League season.

The club would like to place on record its sincere gratitude to all of our departing players for their hard work, commitment and contribution during their time at the club. We wish each of them, and their families, every success for the future.

Izzy Bibby #137

Izzy Bibby joined the Valkyrie squad in 2025 and made a real impact.

Scoring seven tries in 17 appearances in her first season, she was mainly used from the bench, sharing the hooking role with Sinead Peach.

In all, she scored 11 tries in 33 appearances.

Chevelle Clarke #118

Chevelle Clarke became the first player from the Under 19s to progress to the first team, when she featured in the Women’s Nines Festival in May 2023.

The Jamaican international was named on the bench for the Valkyrie’s Super League win away at Huddersfield that same year.

Her second first team appearance came at the start of 2026 in the home win against Barrow in the Challenge Cup group stage.

Rhiannon Marshall #99

One of the legends of the women’s game, Rhiannion Marshall proved vital to the Valkyrie after joining from Castleford in 2021.

Her ability to find an offload and powerful carries, coupled with a kicking game, were vital in York’s success as they clinched back to back Women’s Super League titles in 2023 and 2024.

A former England international, she played in five Grand Finals with four different clubs: Featherstone Rovers (2017), Leeds Rhinos (2018), Castleford (2019) and York (2023, 2024)

She played six times for York in 2026.

Charlotte McDaid #141

Charlotte McDaid made her Betfred Women's Super League debut in 2025, after stepping up from the Under 19s.

She made four Super League appearances that year, with her debut in the win at Leigh Leopards in June.

McDaid featured once in 2026 against Barrow in the Challenge Cup group game, and ended the year on loan at Huddersfield Giants.

Tara Moxon #138

Tara Moxon has spent two seasons at York, joining in 2024 after four years with Leeds Rhinos.

The Papua New Guinea international mainly featured in the centres for York, where she scored 10 tries in 25 appearances across two seasons.

She finished 2026 on loan at Huddersfield Giants.

Sade Rihari #115

One of the senior players in the Valkyrie squad, Sade Rihari led the team to victory as captain in the 2024 Women’s Super League Grand Final.

The former New Zealand Touch Rugby International signed for York in 2023 but left to take time out of the game in 2025.

She returned to York for 2026, and made her last appearance in June in the league win at Featherstone.

Rihari made 46 appearances for York.

Carrie Roberts #119

Part of the 2023 and 2024 Grand Final winning squads, Carrie Roberts spent two years with York after leaving St.Helens to focus on her career in the military.

She left York at the end of 2024 but returned for a second stint in 2026, making one appearance from the bench in the Challenge Cup quarter Final win over Huddersfield.

York RLFC would once again like to thank all the players for their time and dedication to the Valkyrie.

We wish all of our departing players and their families, every success and happiness for the future.

Always a Valkyrie. ⚔️
