York Knights forward, Jack Martin will remain with the club after signing a contract extension, thanks to support from Squad Builder!

Already contracted for the 2027 season, the 25-year-old prop has now committed to a further two years with the Knights, extending his stay at the club until the end of 2029.

After arriving at the club late in 2024, Martin has gone on to become a fans’ favourite. After being named York’s Forward of the Year in 2025 and 2026, he also picked up the 2026 Graham Steadman Player of the Year after making 30 appearances in the Knights’ first season in Betfred Super League.

The 25 year-old is a former Queensland U19s representative. He also played in the Queensland Cup in Australia, and made two appearances in the New South Wales Cup at Reserve Grade.

Martin said: "Super excited to have extended my future with the club and can’t wait to rip into the 2027 season"

Head coach, Mark Applegarth believes there’s still better to come from the prop.

“Jack’s really been consistent this year with his performance and that’s why he got the Player of the Year award, “ he said.

“It’s a really high standard he drives for himself and his team mates and he’s ultra consistent.

“He does a lot of the unselfish work to a high standard, the repeat high intensity efforts that good prop forwards do.

“I’m delighted and I think he’s going to be massive for us.”
