Martin & Pakulis named York RLFC Players of the Year!

York RLFC have named Jack Martin as the York Knights Graham Steadman Player of the Year and Megan Pakulis as the York Valkyrie Julie Cronin Player of the Year!

They were announced as winners of the top awards at our annual ceremony, this year held at York Racecourse.

Martin, sponsored by Rachael Parker, has become a fans favourite since joining the Knights late in 2024. He’s gone on to become a mainstay of the pack with his consistent form and has continued that into his first season in Super League.

He was also named as Knights’ Forward of the Year award.

Pakulis, sponsored by York’s Chocolate Story, returned to the Valkyrie this year for a second spell after a season in Australia. She’s been fierce in attack and defence, and consistently caught the eye for York this year.

She was also named the Valkyrie Players’ Player of the Year award and the Valkyrie Forward of the Year..

The Jim Bone Award, presented to a club person in recognition of their work with the club, went to Ryan Watson. A community coach with New Earswick, Ryan has been a longstanding volunteer on match days at York.

The Michael May Award, presented to the Foundation Person of the Year went to the Shipley Family, for all their fundraising efforts over the past year.
