Player departures from York Knights confirmed




York RLFC can confirm four more players are leaving the club at the end of the 2024 season.


Along with Ronan Michael, who is joining Bradford Bulls for 2025, Josh Daley, Nikau WIlliams, AJ Towse and Will Jubb are all moving on.


Will Jubb - #1814


Will Jubb, proudly sponsored by Clinical Technologies, is one of the Knights’ longest-serving players and has been with the Club since 2017.


The hooker initially joined on dual-registration from Hull Kingston Rovers before signing a permanent deal. He's made 176 appearances, scoring 30 tries and kicking one goal.


AJ Towse - #1891


Towse made his debut in 2021 after coming through at community club, Heworth ARLFC.


The winger, proudly sponsored by Marcia Inn, Bishopthorpe, became a regular for the Knights the following year, and he was shortlisted for the 2022 and 2023 Betfred Championship Young Player of the Year.


The top try scorer in 2023, Towse scored 35 tries in 67 appearances.


Josh Daley - #1921


Josh Daley, proudly sponsored by Jacques Motorhome & Campervan Specialists, joined York ahead of the 2023 season from New South Wales Cup side, Mounties, in Australia.


He became a fans favourite in his two years at the LNER Community Stadium, with some dynamic performances at hooker and in the halves.


He returns to Australia after making 54 appearance in a Knights shirt, and scoring 11 tries.


Nikau Williams - #1936


Nikau Williams joined York ahead of the 2024 season from Newcastle Thunder, and featured in the halves, at full back and centre across the course of the season.


The New Zealander's versatility saw him play 25 times this season, contributing 10 tries and kicking 32 goals and one drop goal.


Williams, proudly sponsored by CH Render, is leaving the club to move to Australia.
