More 2026 players depart Knights
York Knights can confirm more players who will depart the club ahead of the 2027 Super League season.
Again, the club would like to place on record its sincere gratitude to all of our departing players for their hard work, commitment and contribution during their time at the club, and wish them, and their families, every success for the future.
Kieran Hudson #1953
Kieran Hudson arrived at York Knights for 2025 from Castleford Tigers, the club he rejoined after being released by Leeds Rhinos at the end of the previous campaign.
He made 18 appearances for York, scoring twice in 2025 as the Knights finished top of the Championship. He was also on the bench for the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup win at Wembley.
Injury limited his opportunities in 2026, and he made three Super League appearances for York and four on loan at Newcastle Thunder.
Ryan Jackson
Ryan Jackson came to the Knights from Central Queensland Capras in Australia.
A tall, strong running forward, Jackson made an impression on loan at Newcastle Thunder, scoring six tries in 24 appearances for York’s partner club.
However, he didn’t make any appearances in a Knights shirt.
Jordan Lipp
Jordan Lipp arrived for 2026 from Australia, having played for Norths Devils.
A versatile player able to play at full back, half back or in the centres, Lipp struggled for chances in Super League.
He scored 21 tries in 29 appearances on loan for Newcastle Thunder in the Championship.
Justin Sangare #1957
French international, Justin Sangare joined York ahead of the first season in Super League from Salford Red Devils.
He made 13 appearances from the bench in 2026, before playing four times on loan at Newcastle Thunder.
John Segaga
The prop joined York from Penrith Panthers in 2026, where he came through the development system.
He was named as 18th Player for York’s early season defeat by Leeds Rhinos at Headingley, but found opportunities limited.
Segaga made 21 appearances in the Championship for partner club, Newcastle Thunder.
York RLFC would once again like to thank all the players for their time and dedication to the club.
We wish all of our departing players and their families, every success and happiness for the future.
Always a Knight. ⚔️
