York Valkyrieās run-in to the end of league season continues with a trip to St.Helens in the Befred Womenās Super League on Saturday at the Totally Wicked Stadium (12pm)!
After Yorkās convincing 32-10 win over Wigan Warriors at the weekend, St.Helens have gone top of the table, overtaking the Warriors who hadnāt lost a game all season before then.
Saints havenāt lost in the league this year, although they have drawn twice, first with a 20-20 result at Leeds Rhinos and a 22-22 draw at Wigan in June.
The Valkyrie sit in third place in the table, two points behind them.
York are on an eight match winning run, with their last defeat being at the LNER Community Stadium in June against Saints. The Valkyrie led 12-4 at half time with tries from Emma Kershaw and Kira Fitzpatrick, both converted by Ellie Williamson, before St.Helens fought back in the second half to win 16-12. Their scorers that day were Dani McGifford, Nom Williams and Faye Gaskin, who also kicked two goals.
Itāll be the third meeting between the two sides this season, with Saints beating York 10-6 at the Totally Wicked Stadium in the Challenge Cup semi final back in May.
Itās also a repeat of last yearās Grand Final which York won 18-8 to claim back to back titles. Both teams are already sure of a play off place for this year.
Lindsay Anfield has been able to name a settled side for the last few weeks, and with no injuries reported after Sundayās win over Wigan, sheās expected to be in a similar situation again.
St.Helens could have full back, Beri Salihi back after she missed last weekās 90-0 win against Barrow.
