York City Knights have been drawn to face Sheffield Eagles in Round One of the Betfred Challenge Cup, a fixture to be played over the weekend of 19th-21st of March at the Keepmoat Stadium.
The match will be the Knights’ first since defeating Rochdale Hornets in the same competition last March and the winner of the tie will travel to face the winner of the London Broncos vs Keighley Cougars tie in Round Two.
Whilst the Knights didn’t face Mark Aston’s Sheffield team in 2020, we did play them twice in the 2019 Betfred Championship season with one win apiece, ours coming on a memorable Friday evening in July when James Ford’s team triumphed 23-16.
Details of the confirmed match date and streaming of the fixture will be confirmed in due course with all matches played behind closed doors this season to be streamed.
