Ford pleased to see key players return to the fold

Ahead of Monday night’s Betfred Championship trip to face Barrow Raiders in front of the Premier Sports cameras, Head Coach James Ford gave an update on the Knights’ injury situation with key players set to return to the fold.

“I think the medical team and strength and conditioning staff are doing a really fine job of keeping the adult players that we’ve got ready to go and I think the fixture list has been really kind,” he explained after noting the small squad at the Knights’ disposal and the youngsters who have stepped into the team so far this season.

“There was obviously some disappointment about being knocked out of the cup at Whitehaven but it clearly wasn’t a priority for us and hopefully people now can understand why after seeing our form and progress in the league.”

Speaking on the players unavailable at present, Ford added: “Brad Ward is out still with concussion, we’re confident Ronan Michael will be ready for the London game while Olly Butterworth is out for the season.”
