York Knights face Featherstone Rovers in another big clash in the Betfred Championship at the LNER Community Stadium on Sunday (3pm)!

It’s also Education Day, featuring our Primary Schools Rugby League Festival.

The game is a repeat of the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup Final, which York won 5-4 in golden point extra time at Wembley earlier this month.

It’s the third time this season Mark Applegarth’s side has come up against Paul Cooke’s Rovers, with Featherstone winning the reverse fixture at the Millennium Stadium on Good Friday.

That was the last time York lost a game in all competitions, going down 24-22 after letting a 16-0 lead slip as Rovers scored 24 second half points.

The Knights are on an eight match unbeaten run, with six of those victories coming in the league, moving them up to third place in the table.

Since beating York, Featherstone have gone on to win five of their last six fixtures after a difficult start to the season. It’s a run which has seen them move away from the bottom of the table and up to seventh, four points behind the Knights.

They come into the game on the back of a 32-16 win at home to Featherstone Rovers, with a standout performance from Ben Reynolds who kicked six goals and helped create four tries.

This game will also see a return to the LNER Community Stadium for Will Jubb, who left York to join Featherstone in the off season.

Former Knights, Ben Reynolds and James Glover are also expected to be part of the Rovers team.

For York, Ben Jones-Bishop will be available after missing out on the encounter at Wembley, due to being cup-tied.
