York Valkyrie pair Liv Whitehead and Jess Sharp have earned call-ups to the England Students squad for 2023.
Whitehead, who is proudly sponsored by V25 Comms Ltd, and Sharp, who is proudly sponsored by JCT 600, are among the 22 squad members chosen after a trial of over 180 players across the country.
Whitehead and Sharp could represent England Students in the RFL President's Cup against Great Britain Students and the UK Armed Forces in May.
11 of last year's England Students squad progressed to the England Knights set-up while one player won a call-up to the World Cup side.
England Students Head Coach Ellis Pascall added: “We are really happy with the final squad and have been very impressed with all who attended the trials.
"We now look forward to working closely with the team over the coming months to compete well in this year’s programme."
The RFL’s Conor Meese, a co-selector alongside management team colleagues and coaches, said: “A huge congratulations to everyone who has been selected following the recent trials.
"It’s been really challenging for us as staff and coaches to select the final squad given the number and ability of the players who attended the trials.
"This shows the growth within the women’s game and in particular the appetite within the educational settings."
